PRODUCT REVIEW: Eye of Horus' Teal Malachite Goddess Pencil

Eye of Horus originated from Australia and it has been exported to New Zealand, UK, Europe and in the Philippines. The range of their eye makeup technology is inspired by the Ancient Egyptians's formulas and ingredients. To know more about Eye of Horus, just go to their main website here.

Bearing the Eye of Horus symbol, it signifies wisdom, prosperity and healing to the one who uses it. Its now readily available in the Philippines. Teal malachite is just one of the shades available. There are total of nine shades and the other eight are: Bronze Amulet, Charcoal Obsidian, Emerald Tabula, Jewel Amethyst, Lazuli Blue, Nubian Brown, Scarab Sapphire, Serpentine Sultry and Smoky Black Goddess. In my good experience with this Goddess Pencil, I now want to collect them all!

I got this from my Glamourbox Special Edition Box. Its my first time to try it and I found an eyeliner that works for me. Let us now take a complete review about it.

At first, I was hesitant to use it because the shade is too bright, I am afraid to use it at work. Last February 14, 2015, I woke up wanting my makeup to look daring so I decided to use it for the day. As you can see on the photo above (sorry my picture of the pencil is already used), the pencil is dual, there are two tips - one for the pencil and the other for the foam for smudging.

Brand: Eye of Horus

Adorn and enhance your eyes with this hypnotic shimmering jewel-like formula, Teal Malachite creates a effervescent statement. Its vivacious deep pigment is perfectly matched for summer days to make eyes sparkle and pop with colour. Equally brilliant for the night goddess, it’s a sultry standout. Created with a hint of metallic pearl, this gorgeous defining eye liner adds colour and vitality. Designed to glide on smoothly, without tearing, the Teal Malachite goddess liner is long lasting, and can be combined with other liners for creative eye artwork – it is an energetic colour, for all eyes. Sensational for Day wear or evening.

Ingredients: (Taken from website) Water, Beeswax, Carnaubax Wa, Stearic Acid, Rice Bran Wax, Candelilla Wax, Glyceryl Monostearate, Organic Moringa Seed Oil, Iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, Methylisothiazolinone. Mineral Colour

How To Use: To protect the wax elements in the Goddess Pencil, avoid heat or sun. Ensure the cap is on tight to ensure no shrinkage of wax content. A professional cosmetic sharpener is required to sharpen the pencil, our Eye of Horus precision sharpener maintains the Goddess Pencil is in perfect condition. To make sharpening easier, store it in the refrigerator or freezer, which will harden the wax and avoid breakage.

Pros:
> Bright and bold color
> Highly pigmented
> Did not smudge
> Waterproof (I cried a little that day and my eye liner did not budge! LOL!)
> There is a small smudge on the eye liner after my 8 hours shift, I find it great that it survived that long. (Photo below)
> Gliding the pencil is easy and smooth

Cons:
> Ordinary sharpener cannot be used on the eye liner
> Quite costly
> The foam for smudging does not really work as I find the eye liner smudge free. Its hard to smudge it totally.

*Just a suggestion, if you are going to use a liquid eyeliner and this pencil, apply the pencil first because the eye liner can cover the liquid eye liner with its high pigmentation.

SWATCHES:

Just a close up of both my eyes wearing the Teal Malachite Goddess Pencil.

Closer look on the eye pencil.

In Daylight Use

After the end of my 8 hours shift, this is the only smudge I found on my eyes. I did not retouch any of my makeup.
