PRODUCT REVIEW: SILKYGIRL'S MATTE JUNKIE LIP CREAMS
Hello Beauties! I have exciting reviews and swatches to share for this blog post and it is all about SilkyGirl's Matte Junkie Lip Creams!
These Matte Junkie Lip Creams by SilkyGirl is like a kiss-proof lipsticks because it does not stain at all on my mugs or glasses even on my spoon or fork whenever I eat or drink! I got five shades sent by SilkyGirl for review but I think they have more than 5 shades to choose from.
There are no weight of the product indicated on each tube but in my estimate it is around 5ml to 7ml.
Let us all check it out shade by shade by starting at Shade #1 or Retro.
Retro (Shade #1) is nude and brown. The color reminds me of the usual matte nude lipsticks by MAC. It looks natural and made my skin looked whiter. I just noticed that this lip cream accentuates the dry parts of my lips. Specially when I did not do any exfoliation. Also, it is not that pigmented compared to the other shades. However, without too much pigmentation, it makes it look more natural.
Next shade is Shade #2 or Glamour.
Glamour or Shade #2 is a light pink lip cream. Just like the Retro, it accentuates the dry parts of my lips as well as some of my lip lines. But this is more pigmented. The lip cream Glamour also does not stain.
The third shade is Rebel or Shade #3.
Rebel is a hot fuchsia lipstick. At first I was afraid it looked too bright for my skin tone but it looks fine. My skin actually looked lighter with this lip cream. It is highly pigmented. Compared with Retro and Glamour, it did not show the dry patches of my lips that much. Very minimal.
The fourth lip cream that I have is Shade #4 or Vintage.
Vintage or Shade #4 is a classic nude lipstick with a hint of peach. It reminded me of my favorite MAC Lipstick, Kinda Sexy. It highlighted the dry patches of my lips and lip lines but it is highly pigmented. From all the five shades, this one is my favorite! A must-have from this collection.
The last shade that I was able to test is Shade #5 or Vixen.
Vixen or Shade #5 is a very bright red lipstick. It looks orange-y to me though. The lip cream is highly pigmented but I had hard time applying it evenly on my lips. Just be careful on the edges and you will be fine. The Vixen did not highlight the lip lines though it minimally accentuated the dry patches of my lips.
All in all, all the shades are nice and creamy. It does not feel warm on my lips even though it is matte which is actually great!
These lip creams are affordable for only 299php each! For a matte lipstick, it smells nice - no strong odor that can make you uncomfortable in wearing it. Also, it is non-sticky.
The applicator is easy to use (Except for the Vixen - I do not know if it is because of the shade that is too bright that it looks hard to apply on my lips.)
It can be removed unevenly after eating but not to drinking. I am happy that it does not transfer to utensils. Without heavy meals, it lasts long on me. Around 4 to 6 hours.
Other than some shades not being highly pigmented and that it accentuates lip lines or dry patches of my lips, I had no other issues encountered in using this product.
