Amacena Restaurant: My Experience + Menu

MY EXPERIENCE AT AMACENA RESTAURANT + MENU

If there is something that I want besides collecting makeup, its trying out different good food and travelling. I got my wish for travel when I was invited to attend the TrueTea Iced Tea Launch at One Tagaytay Place Hotel Suites. I never expected though that I will also be able to try the great food cooked by Chef Luigi Muhlach at Amacena Restaurant located in One Tagaytay Place Hotel Suites' ground floor. I was able to get two of my guilty pleasures in one day!


Besides the scenic view when we have a quick vacation in Tagaytay, I have more reasons to go back. It is to eat at this cozy restaurant. The interior design is warm and inviting with all the wood works. From its walls to its furniture. While you dine, you will also get an amazing view of nature from its wide windows.


Each recipe was carefully created by Chef Luigi Muhlach. Sounds familiar? Yes, he is the son of Aga Muhlach and Janice De Belen, but he is more known with his childhood nickname, Igi Boy. Its my first time to try his dishes but I am already craving to get back to Amacena - its that good! 

The food served at Amacena is still the traditional Filipino recipes but Chef Luigi added a twist and experimented a little to create something more surprising. 

While we were there, I am so happy to meet Chef Luigi in person as well as the owner of the One Tagaytay Place Hotel Suites, Mr. J.R. Francisco - who ordered the best sellers for us to try! Thank you so much for the warm welcome! 

Shall I start sharing their best selling dishes? Yes? Let me start with the Salad!

Organic Tomato Salad - 210php (This dish is good for sharing of two to three if you have other orders)

Five Cheese Pizza: Blue Cheese, Parmesan, Mozarella, Feta Cheese, Cheddar Cheese. 280php (If you love gooey cheese and pizza, you should try this! This pizza is good for sharing.

Dinakdakang Chicharon 330php - Its likea well seasoned Sisig! This dish is good for sharing.

Honey Bagoong Wings 230ph. The dressing goes perfectly with the honey bagoong coated wings. This dish consists 3 to 4 pieces of wings that is good for one to two pax.

Sizzling Bulalo Steak 600php - My favorite from all the dishes that I tried! The meat is tender and savory. 

Crispy US Beef Short Rib Kare-Kare 1010php - The beef is also tender and tasty even without the Kare-Kare sauce!

Any course of meal will not be complete without a dessert. Mr. Francisco ordered us his recommended Leche Flan Turon.

Leche Flan Turon 150php - The lumpia wrapper is crispy but upon biting, you can taste the melting Leche Flan. Its so good! 

Decadent Double Chocolate Cake 165php - The chocolate cake is baked perfectly, The cake is moist inside and chewy. One bite with the vanilla ice cream is a good combination as it balances the sweetness.

Belgian Choco Eruption 165php - This is like the Decadent Double Chocolate Cake but this one has an oozing chocolate lava in the middle of the cake.

Of course, desserts are best served with tea. They offer Basilur Tea and there are a lot of variants you could choose from, I chose my favorite, English Breakfast Tea. Basilur Tea is a premium brand of tea from Sri Lanka. 


Pros: 

Five star treatment by the staff, they are very accommodating. 

The food is really amazing, it is definitely worth the travel! 

The ambiance is cozy and warm.

Cons: None noted.

Will I come back? 100%. Writing this blog post already makes me want to go back. LOL.
