PRODUCT REVIEW: URBAN DECAY'S GAME OF THRONES EYE SHADOW PALETTE

If you really know me, you will know that I am the type of person who loves to read, watch, and collect cute things. In short, I am a home-buddy who can find a lot of things to do at home.

In terms of books, I prefer reading romance and fantasy novels while for the shows, I am almost interested to anything that can entertain me. One of the shows that I love to watch is Game Of Thrones. Every plot and characters of the story got me hooked. Sadly, the show already ended and I am kind of disappointed with the ending, I just hope the last two books remaining by George Martin will be different from the HBO version.

Anyway, during the last season of the show, I was surprised when Urban Decay announced that they will release a makeup line in collaboration with the show Game of Thrones. At first, I was scared that I will not be able to buy and collect it because there is no official physical store of Urban Decay in the Philippines and most of the online sellers are a bit pricey. Thankfully, some of the important product collection from the product line were offered at Sephora PH. Yay!!!

I was able to purchase this Game of Thrones Eye Shadow Palette for 3,360php. With the usual price of Urban Decay palettes, I kind of expected this price range. Since it is a limited edition - and a good one at that, for me it is worth the splurge.

The box alone looks like from medieval times that fits the theme of Game Of Thrones.

When I opened the box, the eye shadows comes as an insert inside the box and the top of it has a pop-up replica of the throne. That is one of the reasons that I bought this palette, it is because of the pop-up throne. LOL.

On the side of the box, there is a ribbon that you can pull to access the eye shadow collection. The palette contains four set of inspired collection from the different clans in Game of Thrones: Hardhome, Winterfell, King's Landing, and Bay of Dragons.

The Hardhome have cooler shades: blue, light blue, gray, black, and white. These set of shades are good to use for parties or night makeup look. All of these shades are shimmery.

The Winterfell collection I think was inspired from the Weirwood Tree because of the red shades. At first look, I thought it was a Lannister collection. Anyway, in this set, the only matte powder is Nymeria. The remaining colors are shimmering.

The third set from the collection is King's Landing inspired. Two of the shades are matte powders specifically the House Lannister and Lannister Red. The remaining Red Keep and Casterly Rock are shimmery shades.

The last remaining set of eye shadow powders is the Bay of Dragons. All of the powders in this set are shimmery.

There are neutral bigger pot of powders. All of the shades are shimmery.

I tested all of the shades alternatively in my daily routine and my favorites are from the King's Landing Collection and the shade Nymeria. Also, all of it has the same quality from the usual Urban Decay Palettes but the shimmering shades are not as smooth and pure as the ones from the regular Urban Decay Palettes.

The eye shadow powders are long lasting specially when used with a primer beforehand. Last, all the powders can be blended easily and highly pigmented.

It is already sold out at Sephora PH but it is still available in stores at Urban Decay in US. So if you have a family, a friend, or know an online seller that directly supplied from US, try ordering one. :)
