PRODUCT REVIEW: ALTHEA'S PORE PURIFYING SERUM CLEANSER

Hello Beauties! I am back for a review about a cleansing product. Are you familiar with Micellar Water, Foam Cleansers, Oil Cleansers, and so much more? Well, there are a lot of types of cleansers available in the market but do you know what is best for your skin?

In 10 Steps Korean Skincare, the number one is cleansing or exfoliating. It includes deep cleansing before you use a facial wash which is Step 2. In my case, I either use a Micellar Water, Skin Detoxers or Exfoliating products. Sometimes though, my skin is either still dirty because Micellar Water is not enough or sometimes too raw because of the exfoliant. That is why I am happy to discover this Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser by Althea.

This cleanser is oil based which means it can cleanse my skin well without stripping off its natural moisture. Are you excited to learn more about it? Let's go!

Brand: Althea

Type: Serum (Oil) Cleanser

Weight: 150ml

Product Description: (According from Althea) A purifying cleanser with a serum-like formula that can remove makeup, dirt and oil without drying out the skin.  Balances the pH levels of the skin to ensure it stays healthy.

Ingredients: (From Althea's website) Water, Peg-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Cyclomethicone, Isononyl Isononanoate, Dipropylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Mentha Arvensis Leaf Extract, Glycerin, Citric Acid, Hydroxyacetophenone, Disodium Edta, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Citrate, Butylene Glycol, Fragrance

Pros:

This serum cleanser contains important ingredients such as Mint Leaf Extract that cools down the skin and soothes irritations, Jojoba Seed Oil that deeply moisturizes any dryness without feeling heavy, and Tea Tree Leaf Extract that has antibacterial properties that purify the skin.

It is true that this product can deeply cleanse my skin from dirt and yet it keeps my skin well hydrated. The moisture remains. Just to test how much dirt it would take from my skin, I used a cotton pad to remove the serum cleanser instead of rinsing it off. (Check my cotton pad sample below.)

The cleanser was able to remove my stubborn makeup products such as waterproof eyeliner and brow liner, and the ever hard to remove Maybelline's Super Stay Matte Inks!

My skin is lighter and smoother after I washed off the cleanser.

It has a nice mint-like scent that makes you feel refreshed while using it.

This cleanser suits all skin types. If you have a sensitive skin, do not fret since this one is very gentle.

Affordable for a 150ml bottle priced at 430php.

Cons: None noted.
