ALTHEA'S PETAL VELVET SUNAWAY PRODUCT REVIEW

The weather in the Philippines is hot and sunny even though it is not summer. That is why it is always handy to have a sunblock in your bag or stash. One of my usual problems though is that I hate using sunscreens that are thick and causes stickiness to my skin. I am always on the lookout for the best sunscreen I could use. My newest find is Althea's Petal Velvet Sunaway, thanks for being an Althea Angel!

The Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway is a sunscreen that gives moisture to the skin and yet controls sebum. It offers an SPF 50 Pa++++ protection and that coverage is already good! The formula is lightweight, creamy but non-thick and invisible that it does not create a whitish look on my face. The finish is semi-matte, which means it is not too moisturizing nor drying.

The packaging is cute and minimalist. The bottle is light and the tip can control the dispensing of the sunscreen well.

Let us now go into the details.

Brand: Althea

Type: Petal Velvet Sunaway

Weight: 55ml

Ingredients: (From Althea's website)
Damask rose extract - Deeply hydrating and soothes irritations, leaving the skin feeling healthy
Hyaluronic acid - A humectant that attracts moisture to the skin, preventing dehydration
Geranium oil - Gives the skin a radiant boost and heals acne

How To Use: Shake well. Just like any sunscreen, apply an even layer to your skin and allow it to be fully absorbed before going out into the sun. Re-apply as needed.

Aqua, Cyclopentasiloxane, Zinc Oxide, Disiloxane, Proanediol, Titanium (IV) Oxide, Methyl methacrylate crosspolymer, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Sage Oil, Pogostemon Cablin oil, Bergamot, Rosa Damascena Flower Extract, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Stearic Acid, Aluminum hydroxide, Vinyl Dimethicone, Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Sodium chloride, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, 1, 2-Hexanediol, Sorbitan caprylate, Glyceryl caprylate, Polyglyceryl-6 Polyricinoleate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ethyl Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol

Pros:

Since it contains a Damask Rose Extract, it smells like Rose and I love it. Most sunscreens smells strongly of chemicals.

Petal Velvet Sunaway is made up with natural ingredients without chemicals.

The formula is light on my skin and I just used a moisturizer. The sunscreen did not cause any greasiness nor white cast. I felt comfortable wearing it even with the humid or sunny weather. It controls excessive sebum of the skin with its micro powder system while hyaluronic acid ensure the skin is kept hydrated all day!

With its light formula, I was able to apply my makeup over it without any problem. In fact, my foundation was easier to apply - it feels like I used a primer instead of a sunscreen. All the more reason to use this as a must for the base of my makeup application.

The sunscreen offers a high sun protection of SPF 50 PA++++.

The bottle is lightweight and small that it is easy to bring it along with me.

Cons: None noted.
