PRODUCT REVIEW: LUSH'S SLEEPY BODY LOTION
Everyone is raving about Lush's Sleepy Body Lotion, many claimed (both from local and international users) that this is effective in making them sleep instantly. It is one of the reasons why it is always sold out!
Anyway, I am glad I was able to get one last December from their branch at Trinoma. There are 4 pieces left and I unhesitatingly bought one. I considered hoarding all of it but I am not sure if I will like it or find it effective so I just got one for myself and another one for my niece who has trouble sleeping.
This tub of Sleepy Body Lotion reminded me of Bath and Body Works' Sleep body lotion that I use. Let us now find out if it is also as effective as the Bath and Body Works' Sleep Body Lotion.

Pros:
Using Lush products means you support the campaign against animal testing because Lush do not test their products on animals. Yay! Besides supporting animal cruelty, their packaging can also be recycled so it is also environment-friendly.
Using Lush Sleepy Body Lotion is a natural remedy and safe. You might want to consider using this instead of taking sleeping pills or drinks.
Inhaling the scent is soothing. I love to sniff it upon opening the tub before applying it onto my skin. The lotion has a speck of shimmer.
The cream is thick but easy to lather. The cream is more moisturizing compared to Bath and Body Works' Sleep Body Lotion.
I am not sure if it happens to everybody but it has a different effect on me at first. You know that feeling when you eat too much sweets then you feel energetic then afterwards, you will feel sleepy. The lotion has the same effect on me. Yes, the sweetness scent can be soothing but I also felt like my senses are all active. I still have the energy to start doing my skincare routine after applying the lotion BUT after around 30 minutes, I really felt sleepy. The next thing that happened, I woke up with the face mask still on my face. I was not able to finish my skincare routine because I was knocked out!
I think it also promotes that you should sleep at least 8 hours because I still feel groggy the next day when I woke up from my alarm for work. I skip using this sometimes if I need to wake up early.
Cons:
The body lotion is quite expensive compared to Bath and Body Works.
I wish that the tub is in a pump bottle or have a scoop or spatula included. I find that their type of tub packaging is a little unhygienic specially when you do the double dipping.
This variant is a limited edition lotion though I read some articles that Lush is considering in making it a regular variant to their stores.
The lotion leaves a greasy feel on skin. It takes hours before completely absorbed. I use this if the air conditioner in my room is turned on. If not, it felt hot and oily for my body.
For me the scent is too sweet that reminded me of baked goods like cinnamon breads instead of lavender fragrance. I am just not comfortable in using products that are too sweet.
