Honestly, I am not familiar with the brand Asian Secrets until I got a tub from one of the BDJ events that I attended. Its an Indonesian inspired and manufactured body scrub that is designed for whitening. Now, United Laboratories brought it to Philippines.

The Lulur Ritual which inspired this scrub is a beauty treatment being practiced in Indonesia as a way of pampering for brides in preparation for their wedding day but mostly done to royalties. Imagine, we can now use a scrub that are being practiced by princesses! Why not, right?

The Asian Secrets Lulur Indonesian Whitening Body Scrub is available in three variants namely Green Tea, Seaweed and Licorice. I got the Licorice variant from my BDJ loot bag.

I usually use body wash and bath scrubs but there are those days that it is not enough and I wanted to exfoliate the dead skin cells on my body that can only be removed by using scrubs that has beads on it. The first time that I experienced using whitening body scrub was when I had it done in a Spa here in Quezon City. My skin felt smooth and clean after and I love it.

Having it done on a Spa on a regular basis though can be a little expensive and I am glad to discover this Asian Secrets Lulur Indonesian Whitening Body Scrub. I can now do a whole body scrub religiously at home that I can easily afford.

Licorice is a good whitening ingredient that is naturally taken from the plant, it has a Galbridin that causes skin lightening and brightening. The Mulberry has a whitening effect to skin too and these two are the major ingredients in the scrub.

I used the scrub in my damp skin, (it is more effective when used on dry or damp skin over wet skin) because I can effectively massage and scrub the beads onto my skin better. After scrubbing, the ideal time is to leave it on your skin for at least 5 minutes. I use it twice a week.

The beads are fine and gentle to the skin making my experience in using this comfortable and enjoyable. The scrub is also creamy and easy to lather and scrub all over my body and since the texture is creamy, it leaves a light residue on my skin after rinsing.

I target the areas on my skin that are prone to darkening and drying skin like my elbows and knees.

No irritation and altered reaction to my skin. The scent is light.

It is readily available and affordable! This scrub is easy to maintain if you are in a budget. Its the most affordable and yet effective scrub that I used so far.

For the effects on my skin, I love that it made my skin so smooth and soft after use. Even though my skin was exfoliated, it maintained its natural moisture. My skin looked radiant and a little lighter but not as I expected in terms of whitening.
