PRODUCT REVIEW: MAC'S SELECT SHEER PRESSED POWDER IN NC20

Sorry that I its been almost a week since my last post but I am feeling a little uninspired lately and I do not know if its because of my real work or I am just stressing over something that I should not. I will try to share regular reviews soon, I am trying to get on track again.

Last January, I went to Facess in Harbour City, Hong Kong and MAC makeups are more affordable there and I thought I will try and purchase their blotting powder for the first time. Originally I planned to buy the Studio Fix powder but at that time my shade is out of stock, so I settled for this one and also because it is recommended by their Make-up artist.

It is a good thing that I did bought this because I realized I do not own a blotting powder yet. I usually just use a setting powder or spray and a blotting paper to wipe the oil away from my face.

I am not sure if this is as good as their Studio Fix Pressed Powder Foundation but I have to try it at least once. I am now sharing my review with you.

Brand: MAC

Type: Select Sheer Pressed Powder

Shade: NC20

Product Description and Ingredients:

The compact case looks like a typical round casing of powders but the pure shade of black is definitely a trademark of MAC.

Once I opened it, it has a mirror inside and a thin puff for the powder. There is a plastic lid that can be removed totally or you can keep it just like I do to separate the powder and the puff. This will help you prevent the puff getting too much powder on it.

Pros:

It felt light on my face and looks like I did not apply anything over my makeup it. The powder is too sheer but silky.

As stated by the product, its sheer so do not expect that it will give you a nice coverage. It is designed to blot away oil.

My skin looked flawless and it gives a matte finish whenever I use it over my makeup and re-touching.

The powder does not thicken and look "cakey" even if I apply several layers.

I did not experience any break-outs.

It sets the makeup nicely.

Cons:

Expensive.

It has no coverage, though MAC already stated that it is for blotting use.

It does not make my makeup last longer.

SWATCH:

Before and After on Bare Skin

Before and After Over Full Makeup

Overall Look Over Full Makeup

What's your verdict on my photos? It looks the same, right? But it makes the makeup set better.

Buy again? 50% (I find it expensive for a blotting powder, I think I may find a good quality as this in a more affordable price on other brands.)

Overall Rating: 3/5

Price: 1600+
