PRODUCT REVIEW: REVLON'S ULTRA HD MATTE LIPCOLOR IN OBSESSION

Have you ever heard of HD lipstick? When it comes to high definition, the first thing that comes into our minds is foundation, but HD products are also available for lipsticks! Revlon’s best-selling lipstick is an HD lipstick called Ultra Matte Lipcolor.

According to Revlon, the Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor is moisturizing even though it is matte. Most of all, it is highly pigmented.

Revlon’s Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Obsession contains 5.9ml of product. The formula is placed inside an oval-shaped tube that has a frosted glass casing.

The list of ingredients are Dimethicone, Isohexadecane, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Isododecane, Vinyl Dimethicone / Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Silica, C30-50 Alcohols, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Diisostearyl Malate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tocopheryl Acetate, Bis-(C12-14 Alkyl PPG-4) Hexamethylenediurea, Kaolin, Bismuth Oxychloride, Silica Silylate, Parfum (Fragrance), Methicone, Sodium Saccharin, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, BHT, Benzoic Acid, Limonene, Linalool. Each tube costs 575php. The applicator included is easy to use and can apply the lipcolor precisely.

As expected from the HD lipstick, it gives full coverage. I was able to achieve the high intensity and opaqueness that I wanted in just one swipe!

Besides being highly pigmented, the formula is creamy and velvet-like. I was able to apply the lipcolor evenly without any tugging on my lips. The application is smooth and glides on easily.

The HD lipstick did not settle on dry patches of the lips nor on lip lines. Since it is matte, it can be a little drying specially after removal.

Revlon Ultra Matte HD Lipcolor has a fruity-like scent upon application! Not a fan of sweet-scented items? Don’t worry because the scent wears off after a few minutes.

The HD lipstick bleeds easily out of the lip lines. It can easily be remedied by first applying a lip liner on lip edges before the application of the lipcolor. A selection of lip liners are readily available in the market in similar shades or just simply pick a nude shade.

Since the HD lipstick is highly pigmented and creamy, the formula easily transfers on utensils and fabrics. Be careful.

The lipstick lasts long for at least 6 hours but can easily be removed with heavy consumption of food.

Any matte lipstick can be drying to lips, so make sure to hydrate and moisturize before and after use. Once a week of lip exfoliation can also be done.

Collecting all the shades is worth it because it is highly pigmented, easy to use, and lasts long. I recommend this lipstick for people who want lips with a pop of color!
