PRODUCT REVIEW: CHANEL'S LUMIERE SCULPTEE DE CHANEL HIGHLIGHTING POWDER

As insisted by a the owner of this highlighting powder, I should get it because it is really nice! I got it from her as a pre-loved barely used powder for a really good price.

As soon as I got it, I wanted to try it out immediately. It has no box anymore but it still came with its pouch and brush.

This Highlighting Powder came from the Holiday Collection from year 2011. The pearly glow is only on the top of the powder but if used, the remaining powder has still its glowing components but lesser compared to the top layer. The powder that I got has half of the top's glow already used but the highlighting powder still did its wonders to creating a natural glowing look.

The powder has a protective lid and an angled brush included inside the large black compact.

Lately, I just started collecting high end cosmetics if budget will allow to see if there is really a difference. Most of the times, I agree that you get what you pay for.

Let me now share with you my thoughts on this Highlighting Powder.

Brand: Chanel

Type: Highlighting Powder

Shade: Lumiere Sculptee De Chanel

Edition: Limited

Weight: 0.46oz

Product Description: (From Nordstrom) This illuminating powder gently highlights the skin with a sheer blend of tender pink and pearlescence. Shades of ivory and pink dusted with tone-on-tone mother-of-pearls make this palette the height of glamour and sophistication.

Ingredients: Talc, Nylon 12, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Dimethicone, Zinc Stearate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Chlorphenesin, Zeolite, Octyldodecanol, Silica, Acrylates/Octylacrylamide Copolymer, Isostearyl Alcohol, [+/- (May Contain) CI 15850 (Red 7 Lake), CI 77007 (Ultramarines), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), Mica]

Pros:

The compact is elegant and comes with a wide mirror. I love that there is an angled brush included because it is easy to bring it for travels. The powder has a nice embossed artistic design. I find the powder to have a pearly pink or gold glow than white but I think it made it better because it is closer to the skin tone and it makes the look more natural.

The glow of the powder is soft and do not over sparkle my cheek bones when applied. For me, it looked like my natural skin with a slight glow, for others the glow is more visible. Still, I love it because I prefer makeup looks that is more naturally flattering.

The texture of the powder has a velvet feel that it is easier to apply because it does not create a dusty mess.

Cons:

The powder has a top layer of the concentrated glow that once used or removed, the remaining highlighting powder's glow is lessened. I wish that until the bottom layer of the powder contains the same glow the top layer has.

Expensive and it is a limited edition highlighting powder. Also, the highlighting powder does not last long.

SWATCH:

Check the matte like glow on my cheekbones.
