IMPORTANCE OF PANDORA'S SAFETY CHAINS
You may find this article odd but I wanted to share my thoughts about safety chains for Pandora bracelets. So here's the story...two of my friends and one colleague at my work unfortunately lost their Pandora bracelets while wearing it. One thing in common about their stories? All of them did not have the safety chain.
In collecting charms for my Pandora bracelet, I never thought that the safety chain would be so important. It has always been a part of my wishlist for charms but never been made as priority.
The reason why I never made it a priority to buy the safety chain is because of the price. Its definitely expensive compared to usual charms. Price ranges are from 2570php up to 25,000php depending on the style and design.
According to Pandora, Safety Chains can be worn on the bracelet to keep the charms from falling off and being lost.
I panicked when I learned that the Pandora bracelets can easily get lost if the clasp is already loose and it may open while you are wearing it. That is how they assumed how it got lost while wearing it. They all advised me to get one soon before I regret loosing my bracelets. Imagine all the investment that you already put on for the bracelet and charms!
After earning some extra, I decided to finally get one. No need to be extravagant, I just chose the design that I liked from the styles offered by the cheapest price.
At first, I thought that the Safety Charms are all the same in terms of its length. I was wrong. It has four sizes that is customized for a better fit on you. After giving it a thought, I agreed. Why? If the safety chain is too long for your size, what is the purpose of it holding your bracelet together and not falling off of your wrist? The size just needed to be exact so that you can easily slip the bracelet on or off while its attached but still not fall off while wearing it when the clasp accidentally opens.
The sizes available are 4, 5, 6 and 7 centimeters. There is also a proper way of putting it on. Make sure to screw the part of the safety chain from the locked side last to seal it properly. This way even though the other part of the chain may twist, it will not twist out of the bracelet without really twisting it the right way.
I am not sure what size the sales lady chose for my bracelet but I think its around 5 or 6 cm. I hope that this blog post may help you decide on protecting your Pandora bracelet better. :)
