PRODUCT REVIEW: Belo's Sunbrella

Photo Image Courtesy of Belo

I am a person who is always lazy to bring umbrellas. I find them heavy, consumes space in my small bag and it does not usually rain in the Philippines thus it is mostly unused. I seldom walk under the heat of the sun because I really avoid it as much as possible.

I cannot resist the Belo Sunbrella when I saw it on Sample Room though because first the color is pink and second because I love the design and shape - it kind of reminds me of old umbrellas used back in the 60's or 70's.

With my VIP points, I was able to purchase a sample. I tried it and the photo below is me using it under the scorching heat of the sun at noon.

"Not Your Ordinary Umbrella"

Let me now share my experience with Belo's Sunbrella. It differs from other umbrellas because it is made with UPF 50 that effectively filters out more than 97% of UV rays. The UPF represents the fabric's ability to reduce UV transmission and its UPF rating is excellent because it has the highest UPF.

The canopy of the umbrella is 23 inches in diameter and 2mm round ribs. It is made with polyester with wooden shaft and tip.

Pros:
> Lightweight
> Can block the sunlight completely under the shade of the umbrella (Check out my photo above)
> The heat is lessened under the shade of the umbrella
> Perfect to use on sunny days specially when strolling around. I used it lately while walking around the beach of Lingayen and I think it helped in keeping my face protected from the sun because I forgot to use sunblock and this is the only weapon I have against the sun. My back and arms suffered most of the sun burn and thankfully not my face and neck.

Cons:
> Not available in other designs or colors
> Hard to find one available in stores
> It cannot withstand strong winds (as I tried it on the beach) so be careful not to break it.
> Not available in fold-type umbrella that can fit inside the bag

Buy again? 100%

Overall Rating: 5/5

Price: 450php

Where to buy? I saw one on Lazada and Zalora.

  1. I saw that in Sampleroom prolly last month and unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a sample. I also love the colour and I think this is the first time that I've encountered an SPF umbrella =)

  2. Me too, I thought that umbrellas are simply umbrellas, didn't know that they could contain UPF at all! :)
